• Class is for about 18 children and meets each afternoon, Monday through Friday, from 12:45 to 3:15 pm. 
• Children must be 4.5 by Sept. 1 of the school year. 
• At least one year of preschool is preferred. 
• Two licensed teachers are present with these students in a creative, nurturing environment that promotes social growth and practice. 
• Cognitive skills are expanded with special emphasis on social intelligence, emerging pre-reading skills and positive learning adventures.

Kindergarten goals include academic achievement as well as playful learning.  We help young students to be cooperative group members - part of the class community - while functioning independently to take care of their own needs.

Kindergarten at Jean Lyle Children's Center provides a warm, enriching environment with attention to cognitive, social and emotional, and physical growth.

Children in this program have full use of the facilities in both structured groups and individual choice opportunities.
