PROGRAMS AT
JEAN LYLE
CHILDREN'S CENTER

The Jean Lyle Children's Center has 3-day and 5-day preschool programs and a 5-day kindergarten program.  Each of our programs is designed to strengthen and expand the experience and training that you are providing for your child at home.
Our objective is to help each child:

to grow in respect for self and others
to grow in responsiveness to other people
to find joy in learning to live with self and others
to gain independence and proficiency in routine tasks
to develop skills in use and control of the body, mind and emotions
to understand ideas and learn to express them
to find and develop his or her own talents
to find pleasure in aesthetic experiences

Summer School

A summer school of two sessions is available for both new and continuing children ages three to six.  The summer school activities are based on central themes.  This is a good opportunity for new families to get a brief introduction to the school.  The sessions are held in June or July.  New students may attend one week as practice for the upcoming year, and returning students may attend both four-day sessions.

Class Groupings

At Jean Lyle:

children must be 3 by September 1 of the school year for the Three Day programs
children must be 4 by September 1 of the school year for the Five Day program
children must be 4.5 by September 1 of the school year for the Kindergarten program, with admission dependent upon teacher recommendation and school visit.

We believe this JLCC staff and board decision is in the best interest of the children we serve, and therefore no exceptions will be made.

The Three Day AM Class
